Synopsis: Porters of the Inca Trail follows Leoncio Monteagudo and his fellow porters as they bear the burden of exploitation working for corrupt tourist agencies on the world renown 4-day trek to the ruin citadel of Machu Picchu in Southern Peru. The film guides through the unforgettable experience of walking alongside the porters on the 600 year-old Inca Trail through the high mountains of the Andes. In parallel we explore the history and political struggle of the porters as well as cultural and traditional cornerstones of their Quechua heritage.
